Are you a travel addict? Do you consider yourself a nomad? If you want to travel the world to have subjects to write on your blog, then you should put on your list India. If you have never travelled to Asia, then you have to be prepared, because there are great chances you to experience a culture shock. India is known of being a bewildering country, because of its mix of cultures, and religions. And where you count that you need an India visa, if you want to adventure in the Indian jungle.India is the place where you will have to be active 24/7, and you can be sure that it will assault your senses. When you will first arrive there, the massive contradiction will hit you. There are two social categories, the rich and the poor people, there are luxury houses and there are houses that look like a tent.

For a first-traveller, it can be difficult to plan a trip to India, because you lack information. The following tips should help you make a plan for one of the craziest and amazing destinations in the world.

You need an itinerary

When travelling, you may be the type of person who does not want to over plan, because you want to have a flexible schedule. But when you are traveling to India for the first time, this is not advisable, because an itinerary will help you see all the attractions. It does not mean that you have to make a fixed itinerary, a flexible one, will allow you to stay in a place more time, if you fall in love with it. As stated before, India is a huge country, and doing research ahead will help you create a route that includes the main attractions.

You do not want to waste your time with things you do not find interesting. The best inspiration for writing blog articles is to get in touch with the exotic side of India. If you come back home packed with useful information, you will have material to write, not one, but multiple articles about this marvellous land.

Stay away from the burnout feeling

First-time visitors have the same issue when they visit India; they experience fatigue, because they want to do many things in so little time. Yes, we know that it is an addictive, vast and colourful country, but you need a plan, because you have to be realistic and understand that you cannot see everything in a single trip. If you will fall in love with the country, you will have the opportunity to come back, and visit the things you do not have time now. India has a beauty that has to be discovered gradually.

You have to decide the time when you want to visit India
Some people consider India as a sub-continent and this means that the weather varies according to the area where you want to travel. But, if you want to make sure that the weather will work for you, it is advisable to travel from November to March, no matter where you want to go.

If you visit India from March, the weather will be hotter and hotter, and you will have to face great humidity and monsoon rains.

However, there are people who want to visit the Himalayan regions from India, where is cold the greatest part of the year. These regions experience cold winters, and even snow. So if you want to spend your vacation in the Himalayans you should do it during the summer.

Stay away from cities

If you want to see the true beauty of India, then its cities should not be part of your itinerary. If you want to experience Indian culture, you can do it even if you visit the small villages from the country. The overpopulated cities will overwhelm you, and you will have the misconception that India is a crowded country and it has nothing you can see. Have a trip to the mountains, and check the land of Kerala in the south. After doing this you can say that you have visited India, because you will have a great knowledge of their culture.

But where do you want to travel to India?

Therefore, we decided that the cities are not a good option for a first-time traveller. But what it is? Well, when you say India, you say diversity, and this means that you have the unique opportunity to visit from tropical beaches, to Himalayan mountains, and desert forts during the same trip. Do not rush to decide your destination.

First, how much time do you want to stay in India? If you have less than three weeks to visit it, then you should decide upon a region.

  1. Do you want to find more about the history of the country?
  2. Do you want to explore the nature and wildlife of the place?
  3. Do you want to seek refuge in temples and forts?
  4. Do you want to experience nightlife?
  5. Do you want to relax on the beach?

First, answer to these questions, and then decide.

It is recommended first-time travellers to check the south of the country first. Many people visit the Golden Triangle when they first arrive in the country, because they have the opportunity to check Delhi, Taj Mahal and Jaipur.

If you will spend more than three weeks in India, then you can add to your itinerary Rajasthan, and the holy city of Varanasi.

Watch out your outfits

When in India one thing is important, you have to dress conservatively. Everyone knows that Indians have a modest culture, and they want foreigners to respect it, when they visit their country. You should put in your bag clothes that cover your legs and arms. Indians will be friendly with you, even if you do not know what outfits you have to wear, but if you want to make a good impression, and benefit from the hospitality of the locals, then you should make sure you know some basic information about their clothing habits. When you enter someone’s house make sure to leave your shoes at the door.

During your trip, you may want to enter temples, but do not forget they are sacred spaces, so do not even thinkto enter with your sneakers. Let them outdoors, no one will steal them.

Get your vaccinations

You will travel to Asia, so it is important to make sure that you will not get sick. You will be far away from home for a long period, so before leaving your hometown, you should visit your doctor and inform them. They will recommend you what vaccinations you need to have, and they will offer you advice on how to keep yourself safe from getting sick. The majority of vaccinations had to be made with at least 6 or 8 weeks before arriving in India, so do not leave your health status to the last minute.

The most common vaccinations, people have to make when they travel to India are for Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus. However, there are times when vaccinations for Japanese Encephalitis, Diphtheria, Rabies and cholera are also recommended. Your doctor will offer you all the details you need, according to the health situation in India at the moment when you travel.
