Online Passport Application System
You can apply for a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Renewal through the Online Passport Application System by visiting the e-services portal at https://onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk. This service is only for renewal of passports.

Documents Required to Apply for a Passport
To apply for a passport, the required documents vary based on different categories of applicants. Here is a summary of the documents needed for various applicant categories:
For Adults (18 Years and Above):

- Original Passport (mandatory)
- Photocopy of original valid CNIC/NICOP/Smart Card
- In case of Dual Nationality, original Foreign Passport along with photocopies is mandatory
For Children Under 18 Years:

- Father’s original valid Passport and photocopy
- Father’s original valid CNIC/NICOP and photocopy
- Mother’s original valid Passport and photocopy
- Mother’s original valid CNIC/NICOP and photocopy
- Child’s original Passport and photocopy
- Child’s original valid Form B/NICOP/Smart NICOP and photocopy
- Personal presence of both parents with the child is mandatory
- In case of Dual Nationality, original Foreign Passport along with photocopies is mandatory.
For Newborn Babies:

- If either parent is a foreign national, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Consulate and a Sworn Affidavit/Personal NOC are required, attested from the concerned consulate/embassy.
The Validity Period of a Pakistani Passport
The validity period of a Pakistani passport varies depending on the age and type of acquisition. Adults (18 years and above) can apply for a passport with either a 5-year or 10-year validity. However, children under the age of 15 are only eligible for a 5-year validity passport.
The Fee for Applying for a Pakistani Passport
The fee for applying for a Pakistani passport varies depending on the type of passport and the validity period. As of March 2024, the normal fee for a 36-page passport with 5-year validity is Rs. 3,000, while the fee for a 36-page passport with 10-year validity is Rs. 6,700. For a 72-page passport with 10-year validity, the fee is Rs. 8,250, and for a 100-page passport with 10-year validity, the fee is Rs. 9,000.
Processing Time
The processing time for a normal MRP is 21 working days, for an urgent MRP is 5 working days, and for a fast track MRP is 2 working days.
Dual Nationality
If you have dual nationality, you must bring both passports and their copies along with you.
Married Female Applicants
Married female applicants are required to produce original CNIC/ NICOP/Smart National ID Card containing their husband’s name.
Manual Passport
If you have a Manual Passport not issued from the Embassy of Pakistan, your manual passport would first have to be verified from the issuing authority.
The Process for Paying the Passport Fee Online
To pay the passport fee online in Pakistan, you can follow these steps:

- Choose the suitable passport category and application preferences.
- Calculate the passport fee using the simple and easy wizard provided on the website or app.
- Generate a Payment Challan (PSID) after calculating the fee.
- Pay the PSID via ATM, Internet Banking, or 1-link member bank branches.
- Verify the fee payment status through the app or website.
Alternatively, you can also pay the passport fee through the 1 BILL mobile application or at ATMs and branch or branchless banking. It is important to note that the passport fee once paid is not refundable or transferable. Therefore, it is recommended to double-check the fee amount and other details before making the payment.
