The tallest man in the world is Robert Wadlow, who stood at 8 ft 11.1 in (2.72 m) tall. Wadlow was born in 1918 in Illinois, USA and his incredible height was caused by a condition called pituitary gigantism, which led to excessive growth hormone production. Wadlow held the record for the tallest man ever until his death in 1940 at the age of 22. His height caused numerous health issues, and he ultimately died from a septic blister on his ankle caused by a poorly fitted brace.
The current Guinness World Record holder for the tallest living man is Sultan Kösen from Turkey, who stands at 8 ft 2.8 in (251 cm) tall. Kösen’s extreme height is also due to a pituitary gland tumor that caused excessive growth hormone production. Kösen has faced many challenges due to his height, such as difficulty finding clothes and shoes that fit, as well as struggles to complete his education. In recent years he has undergone successful surgery and treatment to halt his growth. In 2013, he married a woman who is 9 years younger and over a foot shorter than him. Tallest Man in the Pakistan
Pakistan’s previous tallest man was Mohammad Alam Channa, who held the record for the world’s tallest living man from 1982 until his death in 1998.
Zia Rasheed, who stood at 8 feet tall (244 cm), was the tallest man in Pakistan until his death at age 30 on July 2, 2024 after a prolonged illness. He was only 3 inches shy of the world record for the tallest man. He was born in 1987 in Vehari, Pakistan. His four siblings were of normal height. By age 15, Zia started growing extraordinarily tall. At 18, he stood 7 feet 10 inches high. At the time of his passing, he reached 8 feet 2.5 inches tall. Due to his immense height, Zia suffered from knee pain starting at age 20. He had a nasty fall from the staircase at home which worsened his condition, but he couldn’t afford proper treatment. Zia was described as a very good-mannered and simple person. His death was mourned by locals and political figures.
