2024 Toyota Sienna Hybrid: What to Expect from the Fourth Model Year

As the fourth-generation Toyota Sienna Hybrid approaches its fourth model year, expected to arrive in mid-2023, we eagerly anticipate the updates and enhancements that will further elevate this popular hybrid minivan. While specific details are yet to be confirmed, we can speculate on what the 2024 Toyota Sienna Hybrid might offer based on the current model and industry trends.

Design Continuity

The 2024 Toyota Sienna Hybrid is unlikely to undergo significant design changes. With its distinctive Shinkansen-inspired aesthetic, the current model exudes modernity and sophistication. The hybrid minivan has garnered praise for its sleek profile and bold styling elements, and we expect these design cues to carry over to the upcoming model year.

Features & Grades

Toyota has positioned the Sienna Hybrid as a premium minivan offering, and we anticipate that the 2024 model year will continue to showcase an array of high-end features. Notable highlights that may carry over from the current model include kick-open and closed sliding side doors and tailgate, Super-Long Slide captain’s chairs with ottomans and heating function, a 4-zone climate control system, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, and a 10-inch color head-up display (HUD).

While we hope for the inclusion of the new Toyota Audio Multimedia System, available in 8- and 14-inch touchscreen versions, there is no confirmation of its arrival with the 2024 update. However, Toyota has shown a commitment to incorporating advanced technology in its vehicles, so we remain optimistic about potential upgrades in this area.

In terms of grades, we anticipate that Toyota will carry forward the existing lineup, including the LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum grades. However, the limited edition 25th Anniversary Edition grade, which saw 2,525 units produced for the 2023 model year, is unlikely to be available in the 2024 model year.

Enhanced Safety Suite

Toyota has consistently prioritized safety in its vehicles, and the Sienna Hybrid is no exception. The current model is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 2.0, a comprehensive suite of safety features. With the 2024 model year update, we expect Toyota to upgrade the Sienna Hybrid’s safety suite to a newer version of TSS, possibly TSS 2.5 or 2.5+.

These newer versions of TSS offer improved camera and millimeter-wave radar optimization, enhancing response range and pedestrian and bicycle recognition in low-light conditions. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection gains intersection support, detecting oncoming vehicles or pedestrians during turns and providing alerts to the driver, along with automatic braking in certain conditions.

Other enhancements in TSS 2.0 and 2.5+ include Emergency Steering Assist, which stabilizes steering maneuvers during emergency situations to avoid collisions with pedestrians, bicyclists, or other vehicles. Additionally, Curve Speed Management in TSS 2.5+ adjusts vehicle speed when approaching curves on the road.

Moreover, the advanced TSS 3.0 brings further enhancements, including an upgraded forward-facing camera with wider angles and an improved radar sensor for an extended field of view. TSS 3.0 introduces enhanced intersection support, improved vehicle detection, motorcyclist detection in certain situations, and Proactive Driving Assist, which provides gentle braking and steering support.

Overall, the 2024 Toyota Sienna Hybrid is expected to maintain its position as a premium hybrid minivan, offering a winning combination of style, features, and safety. As more information becomes available, we will continue to update this page to keep you informed about the latest developments surrounding this highly anticipated model.
