Olight’s Powerful EDC Flashlight Top Contenders: Baton 3 Pro vs. Warrior Mini 2

It’s human instinct to fear what we can’t see. We don’t know what will happen in the next 24 hours. The only thing we do is prepare ourselves for the worse and hope for the best. And that’s where the whole idea of EDC was born.

EDC or Everyday Carry tools such as powerful EDC flashlights, pocket knives, and lighter are tools that can come in handy during the most unexpected situations. Whether you got a flat tire in the middle of the night or find yourself lost in the forest, a simple lighting tool can be a huge source of motivation and a lifesaver.

Even if you don’t wish to carry the whole box of EDC kit, at least carry a flashlight, lighter, and a knife with you, you never know when you’ll need it. These tools are compact, portable, and lightweight that can fit in your pockets, key chains, or bag.

I won’t go into detail on the EDC kit, because that’s a different topic and will need a dedicated post for itself. In this post, we will compare Olight’s two powerful EDC flashlights.

Baton 3 Pro and Warrior Mini 2 – What’s the Difference?

Olight is a well-known and leading brand in the EDC flashlight industry. If you’re someone who loves the idea of an EDC flashlight, you probably have heard about Olight. They are known for producing high-quality and innovative flashlights.

Olight has a wide range of powerful EDC flashlights that are durable, reliable, and powerful. Baton 3 Pro and Warrior Mini 2 are two powerful flashlights popular among EDC enthusiasts.

1. Baton 3 Pro

This powerful EDC flashlight is an upgraded version of the S2R Baton II, which is also a powerful flashlight. Compared to the older version, Baton 3 Pro is 30 times more powerful with a maximum output of 1500 lumens, a max throw of 175 meters, and runs up to 120 days on low brightness setting.

This tiny yet powerful flashlight is powered by a customized 3200mAh 3.6V 18650 rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that you can charge fast and conveniently with an MCC 3 magnetic charging cable.

Other notable features include a 5 brightness mode, IPX8 waterproof rating, 1.5-meter drop resistance, magnetic charging tail, battery level indicator, and side switch for easy operation.

2. Warrior Mini 2

Similar to Baton 3 Pro this is also an upgraded version of the previous Warrior Mini, this is again a powerful compact flashlight. Warrior Mini 2 can produce a maximum output of 1750 lumens, 220 beam throw, and has 45 days of runtime in low-mode settings.

Compared to its predecessor and even with Baton 3 Pro, this powerful EDC flashlight is more secure, way brighter, and packed with new refinements that make it one of the best everyday carry flashlights.

Warrior Mini 2 is also powered by a customized 3500mAh 3.6V 18650 rechargeable lithium battery that you easily charge with the MCC3 magnetic charging cable.

Notable features of Warrior Mini 2 include a proximity sensor, side switch, tail switch, multiple brightness levels, three-level battery indicator, magnetic tail, strobe mode, turbo mode, and bezel head for tactical use.

Comparison between the Two Powerful EDC Flashlights

Both Baton 3 Pro and Warrior Mini 2 are powerful EDC flashlights. But there are some features that make them a little different from each other. The feature is what determines the application scenarios of any flashlight.

  • Brightness and Runtime – Baton 3 Pro has a maximum output of 1500 lumen and 120 days runtime, whereas Warrior Mini 2 offers a maximum output of 1750 lumens and has a maximum runtime of 45 days. This concludes that while choosing between the two, you’ll either have to compromise the lumen or the runtime.
  • Beam Distance and Pattern – Baton produces a wide beam that can reach up to 175 meters and Warrior has a tight spot beam that can travel up to 220 meters. Both beams are unique and special on their own. So no winner here as usual!
  • Battery Compatibility and Charging Options – Both flashlights share the same type of battery (Customized 3200mAh 3.6V 18650 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery) and MCC 3 magnetic charging cable.
  • Build Quality and Durability – These two powerful EDC flashlights have IPX8 waterproof rating, and 1.5-meter drop resistance and are made of aluminum alloy. So we can conclude that both are designed to be durable and long-lasting.
  • User Interface and Switch Types – Baton 3 Pro offers a side switch and a simple intuitive user interface. Whereas Warrior Mini 2 features a side switch, tail switch, and simple user interface. In this case, Warrior is the clear winner.
  • Size and Weight – In terms of size and weight, Baton is shorter and lightweight with its 3.63 oz (103g including battery) weight and 3.99 in (101.4 mm) length. Warrior weighs 4.30oz (122g including battery) and its length is 4.65 in (118.0 mm).
  • Additional Features – Warrior Mini 2 has a proximity sensor that helps to dim and turn off the flashlight when the light is blocked by a nearby object. You don’t get this feature in Baton 3 Pro.

Take Decision as Per Your Need

Hope this post helps you decide between the two powerful EDC flashlights. If you can’t make a decision even after reading the post, you at least get a glimpse of how powerful these flashlights are and how they can come in handy in a variety of situations.

Deciding on something is not an instant thing, we need time. And sometimes even after evaluating everything we still make mistakes, that’s okay, we’ll screw up royally sometimes. Just remind yourself, failure is not the opposite of success, it’s a part of success.

In conclusion, both flashlights are suitable options for users who prioritize portability and ease of use. In terms of brightness, beam distance, and other additional features Warrior Mini 2 is a little superior. Baton 3 Pro is still a powerful EDC flashlight for everyday use.
