Laser perforation:
Perforation is the technique of creating an array (series) of holes or slits and is usually applied in the paper or plastics industry. This is done so that products can be easily separated (e.g., checkbook, notepads, stamps etc.) or for easy to open packages (plastic packages). A multispot beam splitter lens is often used to generate these patterns.

Aesthetic skin laser treatments:
-
-
By selectively creating tiny laser micro-burn on the skin, it is possible to induce natural regeneration of the skin, resulting in the removal of pigmentation and general rejuvenation of this skin. This process, often called fraction laser skin treatment, requires covering the treated skin area by an array of bright laser spots- this is often done by using a diffractive beam splitter to generate this such an array , as diffractive optics are compact and easy to fit in the machine handpiece.

Laser Cleaning:
In laser cleaning, multiple beams of high energy laser are projected over a surface for a short period of time. The contaminant or coating particle gets the energy and then either evaporates or de-bonds from the object material. A beam splitter is used to generate multiple beams or a line of light at a constant pitch to properly control the consistency of energy delivery. The laser cleaning technology is eco-friendly (no hazardous chemicals are used) and it is used to remove paint, rust, oxide removal without any damage to the underneath material.
High-Volume High-speed laser cutting:
Engineers and designers use laser cutter/drillers to cut through or to make a surface burn of flat metal sheets, as a part of the production process of different products. Usually, a CNC machine follows a path instruction to move the metal plate in a 2D plane and a laser cutting head focuses a high intensity laser beam into one spot to generate a high intensity spot. Using a multi-spot beam splitter in the line, the main beam can be subdivided into an arbitrary array of beams which then can be used at multiple points of a product or on multiple products at the same time. This helps to achieve high-speed and high-volume manufacturing systems and to drive the production cost down.

Depth sensing cameras:
Depth sensing cameras are a pivotal type of sensor used in autonomous vehicles, robotics, object counting and many other fields . In this type of sensing, a diffraction based beam splitter is often used to split a laser/LED light beam to project light patterns on an object. An algorithm can determine the object’s distance from the distortion of these light patterns. Usually, An IR (Infra-Red) projector is used to generate the light pattern, and an IR camera then captures the image. 3D scanners also use a similar technique to image the surface shape.
