Kedarkantha (not to be confused with the popular Kedarnath Temple) is a 6-day hike in the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in Uttarakhand (6 days including the journey from Dehradun to the base). Kedar Kanta is one of the most popular trekup India, popular with both experienced trekkers and beginners.
There are several reasons for trekking, which is very popular in the Himalayas of India. The most important of these is usually mountaineering.
The climb to the top of Kedarkantha is very rewarding. The peak immediately looks big in the trekking base. Start trekking early in the morning and keep climbing steep slopes to expand the world.
Climbing is not easy. The entire section is steeply steep. It can get steeper as you get closer to the summit. But the great mountains up the Himalayas will accompany you until you finally reach the top.
When you stretch out and look at the view of the Himalayas from the summit, you will feel a strong sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. It is incomparable.
It is famous for the best climbing among beginners as there are few trekking that offer the same adventure.

What I love about Kedarkantha
Drive to base
This is one of the most beautiful trekking drives. A drive of 18 km of lush pine forests and forest valleys along the River Tons through Purora will take you with you. Don’t miss paying attention to them.
Stay at home
If you are going trekking with Trekupindia, you may benefit from treatment. It is very rare to get to know the inhabitants’ lifestyle first-hand. You can see it on this tour. Spend your family’s first and last night in Gaia Gwangaon.
Even if they are nearby, their homes are different, their clothes are different, and their lifestyles are slightly different. You will experience it up close.
Forest
When you are in the Kedarkantha forest, especially in the forest that stretches from Gaichwangaon to the summit, you feel a stronger sense of oneness with the surrounding environment.
Many factors cause:
This forest stretches the least. With the exception of the villagers, only our trekkers follow this path. Therefore, this path remains clear in many respects. It’s easy to get lost if you’re not really careful.
Unlike other forests, which seem mostly orderly and organized, the growing wildness of this forest remains intact. You will feel strong the moment you walk in.
- The forest is very tight and addictive. The sun is out of breath which makes this episode even more magical.
- It’s still diverse. You can see various trees and shrubs that are not found on the other side of deodal, pine and oak.
The forest from Gaia Gwangaon to the summit is one of my favorite trekking forests. Diversity, contrasting colors, density – all this gives this section a very hyper-realistic character. I am very happy to be able to continue this journey through this forest. However, the other side of Kedarkantha offers steady climbing through the most beautiful forests of the Himalayas.
Settlements
There are many such empty plots in Kedarkanta. No other trekking offers these glades. So far I have hiked almost 11 times but still couldn’t find trekking with such a beautiful empty lot.
In fact, there are no campsites for trekking across the Himalayas. In fact, one of the reasons this trek has been able to open up many routes is because it is so pioneering.
There are other factors that make these clearings even more special. They are:
Each open space of this journey is unique to itself. Juda Ka Talab feels like camping on a cliff, while Juda Ka Talab is completely immersed in the lake.
The view from each open area is magnificent. The sunset in this settlement is absolutely far from the world.
The holes are very well separated along the route. So the forest and the settlement are together and the daily trekking is really perfect. Trekking may find vacancies every two hours. This is the number and the ideal distribution of these vacant lots.
