DEHYDRATORS THAT ARE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE

DEHYDRATOR CHOICES FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN AMERICA

There are plenty of options to consider when choosing a dehydrator for your business. Business owners may wonder if domestic dehydrators will be able to meet their needs.
There are many factors to consider when choosing between a domestic, industrial or commercial dehydrator, and there can be unintended consequences. Your warranty may be voided if you purchase a domestic dehydrator and use it commercially.
You’ll need to consider many factors when choosing a dehydrator, such as the quantity you produce, your product range, and your business goals. Here is a guide to some of the key differences to help you make the right decision.
Commercial Dehydrators America made of stainless steel

STAINLESS STEEL VS. PLASTIC

Plastic is the most common material used in domestic dehydrators. It is possible that plastic chemicals leach into the food, and that plastic absorbs stains and bacteria as well. We use stainless steel commercial dehydrators instead.
The stainless steel option is better for food health and safety since stainless steel can withstand higher temperatures and can be cleaned in a dishwasher without melting or cracking. It also retains heat better for more efficient cooking.

RANG OF TEMPERATURES

In a typical household dehydrator, the maximum temperature is 145°F (60°C). A commercial dehydrator’s temperature is 195°F (90°C). In addition to standard dehydrators, our industrial units can achieve temperatures as high as 575°F (300°C) with customization.
A wider range of temperatures and drying times are available, depending on the product you are making and the final texture you want.
Additionally, our commercial dehydrators can be operated at ambient temperature (no additional heating), with only fans. Domestic dehydrators lack such a feature. Biltong, which is sensitive to heat, can be operated using only fans. It can also reduce your electricity consumption, resulting in lower operating costs, if you use the dehydrator without the heating element.

OPTIONS FOR TIME TIMER

There are only a few domestic dehydrators that are able to be timed between 8 and 24 hours. Additionally, domestic dehydrators cannot be operated for more than 24 hours in a row without voiding your warranty – an important concern for any business. This can cause serious problems if you’re producing back-to-back batches.
Comparatively, all of our dehydrators, commercial and industrial, offer flexible and programmable timer options unlike those found in domestic dehydrators. Our commercial dehydrators have a time that can be set for 99 hours. You can also set the timer for up to 9999 hours on industrial dehydrators – that’s over 416 days, more than a year!
As well as being programmable for up to 99 hours, our commercial and industrial dehydrators can operate safely 24 hours a day, if that is what your production demands.
Timers allow your team to eliminate manual processes by automatically shutting off units. Your business’s overhead for electricity and other running costs can be reduce if your unit can be programmed over multiple days.

INVESTMENTS

By retaining heat, insulation in dehydrators helps maintain more consistent drying temperatures.
Comparatively to domestic dehydrators, our dehydrators feature superior insulation. The stainless steel and insulated walls of our commercial dehydrators offer better heat retention than plastic domestic dehydrators.

‍INFLOW

The consistency of airflow can greatly affect drying times and product consistency. Our commercial dehydrators feature larger fans that provide better airflow than domestic models. Therefore, you do not have to rotate the trays to achieve consistent drying. We have made improvements to our industrial units, ensuring even drying throughout all trays and areas of the machines, as well as options for manual exhaust valves and ductwork for removing smells and hot air.
